Panattoni Wrotham Proposal Withdrawn?

Marley Offices and Open Storage, London Road, TN15 7RW

The proposal was to redevelop the existing Marley site on London Road, some office and warehouse but largely open storage, with a Road Freight Interchange for DPD. The proposed warehouse took up much of the site being a massive 5420 square meters, the rest of the site being either roads or parking with minimal landscape mitigation. The site would run for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including HGV and van/lorry traffic movements and site lighting.

In front of the site is residential strip development along London Road, it is in the Green belt and surrounded by AONB, putting it wholly in its setting.

WPC appointed a Barrister, Planner, Highways and Landscape experts in readiness.

There was a Public Consultation back in July 2022 and the expectation then was a planning application within a month. Now it is February 2023 and the site is being marketed for Marley on a letting basis, long or short term. No sign of Panattoni, no planning application and no Road Freight Interchange.

Great news that adds to the long list of planning achievements dating back to 2005 and Celcon’s failure to build a block making factory with road in the AONB and Green Belt, all due to Wrotham Parish Council and more latterly the combined strength of  The Parish Alliance.
